Hi all

Not sure if I've got the right forum here, and if I have I suspect the answer will be a big fat NO, but here goes ...

Is there any piece of software that will allow me to see the files that make up a web site, as though I were looking at it through, say, Windows Explorer?

yes. that would be too much. so the answere is that it is illegal since many sites have "hidden" files that have passwords or something. so sorry we cant help.

I'm not actually after viewing password protected content, or really backdoor file accessing. I have developed and maintain two websites, and occasionally come across something in another website and think hmmmm, how do they do that. One can view the .html no problem, but there are usually other files involved that one can't see.

Pretty much idle curiosity as well really, bu thanks for the pointers.

a lot of the things you cant see in the html are usually coded for my php, which is a server side web language. there are intricate ways to get the php code (sometimes), but it is really complicated.
