See the 8800 GTX stats VS. 7900 GTX stats

What are you trying to say? The 8800GTX creams the 7900GTX, and there is nothing more to say :D

Thats all there is to it... There isnt any more

Ok, i'll start whit the fact that there is more shader operation/sec, vertex operation and pipelines. But the texture fill rate and pixel fill rate is almost the same and didnt improve much. Does it mean it hit some kind of deadline and it doesnt have to be improve anymore??? Cuz the step between the 6800gt and 7900gtx in term of Texture fill rate and pixel fill rate double.

well..mose games dont have so many textures that actuallt need to be put on the screen... so yea.. atm thats not needed.

How much fill rate do you need? The additional power is in how many more operations can be done so you can have more complex/realistic models.

We can't know if R600 will be better or not.

We need to wait until R600 comes out to see which one is going to be better

Only bad thing with the 8800GTX is the price and amount of power it needs, plus you need a good processor to make use of it properly.

Who cares about power? Performance is what matters.
The CPU world seems to say otherwise. They call it performance per watt. Power usage is just as important as performance. You don't want to be forced to buy a 1KW PSU just because you want a current video card, it's insane.

If they would make grafic's cards that uses very few power, they wouldnt generate much heat.. the result.. people would just overclock the cards big-time, instead of buying a newer one. but yea.. true.. the power consumptions are getting quite insane..

You have a point but the power usage has to come down. There are ways to prevent people from running huge OCs. Also, if the cards perform well and only need minor/moderate cooling I think many people will be happy. Sure you will have the enthusiast/OC crowd who will put a giant cooler on, volt mod and clock the card to the extreme but you aren't going to lose too much in sales to them.

hmmmh... you got that right. but yea.. i agree with the point that the power usage has to go down again. ( altough.. my current cards heat my case up pretty much, so i can actually lay with my legs on them without feeling cold :P )
I have a 620W psu atm.. and im not planning on getting a even heavyer one just for a other grafic's card. ( 50A on the +12V should really be enough imo :| )
