Seeing pixels

My GF's laptop is showing pixels (not dead) which isn't suppose to happen. She says it's blurry compared to what it used to be and that she didn't see the picels before. What I mean is that you can see each square of her screen. Any idea?

"you can see each square of her screen" your girlfriends screen does have very few pixels then

Does it happen when doing more graphical intensive applications?

Nope, she says she sees it well on the Windows 8 home screen (with all the apps).

And you are really sure it aren't defect pixels? Did you measure the temps and such? (Maybe it's a little dirt on the screen?)

you mean that every little square has a little colour difference or something like that? And not black like dead pixels?

Did her resolution get lowered for some reason...? If it's all over the screen I'm guessing that's what happened.

To be honest I don't see what's wrong with it... No it's just that she doesn't feel like she sees it how it was before. She says she sees lines and the pixels. No dead pixels.
