seious newbie question

I would like to put photos onto a cd.
lot's of advise out there, but for using the built in XP (my system) burner, it says 'go to my pictures, and click burn cd'. Really, I'm not THAT stupid. If it were only that easy. When I open 'My Pictures' I see a page of photos and photo folders, but the bit on the left that has 'Writing Tasks' or 'File and Folder Tasks' isn't there!

How do I get that menu to diplay?

just send the pictures to your cd drive and then double click the cd drive you sent them to and all the options to burn will be there.

After you open My Pictures try clicking on the Folders tab at the top.
 
open my pictures

the sidebar just isnt showing

its under tools -> folder options

you want to choose "use common tasks" or something like that instead of "windows classic folders" or whatever
