greetings,
i have been to some web sites that have a "flash" page or banner that is virtually impossible to get rid of.

i have flash installed for whatever reason, however, i would like to know if there is a program that will give me the ability to selectively turn flash on or off at my discretion. anyone?...thanks for any assistance!

turn off scrip controls?
??????

beats the hell out of me!.....again, i would want it to be selective (switchable)....

....i think it was on 123 greeting cards site that a box popped up with animation/flash stating that i was a millionth customer and to select my prize blah blah blah, and no matter what i did, it would not disappear or be moved w/o me clicking on it, and even then, it wanted to take me somewhere else......

Firefox has an extension called web developer that I think will block scripts from running on a site, be it flash or java or whatever. The thing is I think you need to know a bit about scripting to disable them. I haven't played with it that much

......thanks for the reply....yeah, i don't know a damn thing about scripts......i was very surprised to see that ad blocker didn't do a damn thing about the situation.....

I don't know either. I meant jave script controls. As long as ive been hanging on the internet ive ive alway done. (for sites that i visit and trusted only). its been required. i use firefox but its in options for ie. if im in the basement, gutters and downstairs ive always turned off script controls. when im hangin out i always use a private proxy and never a public. controls are used for trusted sites only.
