selling computers on eBay

this is mainly directed to you charlie, but to anyone who is considering selling computers on eBay. As some of you know, someone bought a computer from me, so i bought the parts on newegg, built it, ran it, and then shipped it in the box that the case arrived in. The person that i sold it to told me today that all the parts had fallen out (even the ones that were screwed in), the metal case was dented, and the plastic was cracked. I would think twice on selling comps on ebay.
 
you said you just ship it with the box that the case came with. did you bother putting bubble wraps, newspaper or those foams?
 
How could the ones with screws in them fall out, I would ask the guy to take some pics. I think he might be lying.
 
there is no room for that other stuff, when its in there with the stryofoam, there is no extra space.
 
Just get shipping insureance, and then let them deal with the shipping company. Its as simple as that.

I sold someone a mobo with a Athlon 1500 and he told me it was a duron800(It was your choice, but one was 5$ more) then I send him the (digicam)video of my sealing puting the heatsink on after a clear shot of the mobo and CPU and sealing the package and handing it to the shipper and cussed him out for trying to be a fraudlint bit** I even had my other CPU sitting right there, he new he was wrong, he was asking for a 20$ refund for the mistake, and the "hassle" of getting a new one. I' always prepard for scammers like him.
 
i did get insurance, once he gives me more info, im going to file a claim. ANd hes going to send me some pics.
 
hmm that's odd. I actually sold one recently on ebay although I did not use the case box. I packed it with plenty "foams" and bubble wrap...I haven't heard of any problems (yet). But yeah deffinatley file a claim.
 
yeah hes just giving you BS because he wants a free PC, sooo many people do that.

Indeed, and he's probably going to sabotage the PC for the benefit of the photos. Just dent up the case a bit and bingp, it looks trashed.
 
If he gets photo's and only the case is shown he prabally selectivly decided where to abng it up, so the inside's wouldn't be harmed. and he unscrew some stuff and carfully put it opn the bottom, and possibly brerak a sound card or somthing, if he thinks he can sucker you into it.
 
he said the box wasnt really damaged at all. I think hes hoping to get to keep the comp and get the money from the insurance.
 
i think hes trying to rip me off, he said he sent me pics but i never got them, he wants me to refund him $700 in his paypal account. This is the e-mail:

grafics card

plexiglass side case as this one is cracked
not sure about the hard drive yet have not put all back together yet and tryed to boot
The little white motherboard mounts as these are broken
off so the board will not stay where it should
screws for hard drive I could find no loose screws in the case so this means that the hard drive was not secure
if somone is helping you with the assembly of these pc's you need to have a talk with them my help gets a little sloppy too fact of life.
insde front drive rack is bent I think I can fix this
I am whriting this as I find things wrong with the pc so bare with me will not know about the power soure until I try to boot either need moyher board first
the pci slot to mount the grafics card is broken on one end
so thats where we are to day.
If money is refunded or new pc is sent and received okay
I will return to fedex not before I see them and ups three or more times a week so this is not a problem

tell him that if it was damaged in shipping its not your fault/ or problem and he should file for damage with the shipping company.
 
i told him that i would file a report with FedEx and they will refund him, i also dont have $700 lol
 
Don't refund him, this is though ebay right? seroisly you had like 400 positive feedback, NOONE will care about one negitive, if you have 300positive I wouldn't care if you had 15 negative, you would still be past 97% I think.

Look as his account, and see how much feedback he has, if he dosn't have much, tell him to stop strying to be a fruadulent ass and contanct the shiupping comanpy IF its true, and If you leave me nagitive feedback, I'll leave you negative feedback. It'll hurt him more.

And considering you neevr got his photo,'s, they prbally arn't real.
 
remember, im suspended from ebay, so if i was stupid for an hour, refunded him his money, i would never see my computer again. And i dont know what would happen if i filled a claim and when they went to pick it up it wasnt damaged, i suppose it would be his fault.
 
So this isn;t though ebay? or is and you were just suspended after?

What are you going to file a claim for? arn't the two claims, non paying bidder and shipping not recied or descibed as, and he should be filing the claim?
 
well, i sold it to him before i got suspended, he already paid for it and i already had all his information, so i just paid for it via paypal on newegg, built it, and shipped it to him. Theres only a non-paying bidder report, although PayPal offers buyer protection.
