Selling Startup Video Games?

Hi there,

I've recently began honing my programming skills towards game programming. I'm still a beginner in this particular area of programming, but I hope to actually develop and market some of the games I create, and therefore, need somewhere I can sell them. Can anyone suggest a good place to market some of my first games when I get around to finishing things and get better at programming? Any help, advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance too.

Probably not what you're looking for but developing for Android makes it pretty easy to get your games out in to the world and in the market to be bought. What language are you using and I'm guessing you're talking about PC titles?

Yeah I'm talking more so about indie styled PC only titles, such as Realm Of The Mad God or things like that. I am actually doing android development as well, and already have been working with a friend to develop a app for android devices. I've been using Java, more specifically the Eclipse IDE of Java. I have access to all C programming languages as well, but have yet to touch any of them.

Set up a site for your game and then market it elsewhere. You distribute it from your site and post news and what not on the development.

Then you also post on forums like these, reddit, set up a Facebook group for it, even before your game is playable. If you show concept art and little teasers people will be interested, start to follow and you build your fanbase.

I personally wouldn't go straight for green light as you will become a needle in a haystack
