Sending signal to TV

I'm getting more and more interested about dual screen systems and I was wondering if I could use a TV as the 2nd screen, what connection's are mostly used, what cables are needed and how everything should be setup. I checked my video cards outputs and it has a S-Out and V-Out. And the TV has two ports like this:

They have adapters that convert S-Video to RCA, but the picture is horrible with those things, you cant read text and i've had problems where its only Black and White. If you want to use a TV as a second monitor, it really should have a D-Sub connector.

Well, the TV has the same kind of port as the video card has (V-Out on GeForce 4 and Video In on TV). And the S-Out looks like a ViVo port. And the quality only has to be good enough that you can read the text and it doesn't have to be colour. The TV would be used mainly for chat programs and in use when 3D modeling etc.

it would be no where near good enough quality for reading, as tv's work at a far lower quality than standard PC monitors, you would be better off buying a cheap CRT, or whatever you can afford

i've had problems where its only Black and White.

If you're still having these problems check out the pal/ntsc options in the settings, or if you are using s-video to connect if you're TV hasn't got the right stuff to read the signal then it will appear in B&W

Well I can afford a pretty expensive monitor but I have no room for a new monitor and I don't know where I would put the TV or monitor.

The V-Out seems to be a composite or whatever they are called, exactly like the "port" on my TV is. According to a site the connectors are tulip connectors. Can I use a cable I found at home that seems to have two male tulip connectors at both ends?
