Senior needs help with laptop

Good evening gentlemen,
may I introduce myself? My name is Gertrud and I recently turned 83 years old. My granddaugther Juliette always told me that it is so important for me to keep up with all this new inventions and technologies. She says it would keep me young. So my family gave me a laptop for my birthday and my precious granddaughter showed me how to use it and made up this email address for me.

Now my family is on vacation and I used the laptop on my own but something happened. I pushed some of the buttons and all of a sudden, the letters on my screen were shrinking. Everything on my screen just got smaller and smaller. Now the letters are actually so small that I am wearing two pairs of glasses to be able to read them and to write this. I pressed all buttons separately and also all of them at once, but nothing works.

It would be so kind if anybody could tell a computer freshman how to get the letters bigger again? I don't wanna be embarrassed in front of my granddaughter when she is coming back from her vacation to Bali.

Thank you dearly in advance!

Sincerely,
Gertrud Hanverman

Welcome Gertrud! You will definitely be up-to-date with technology on these forums!

It could be that you held down the Ctrl button while you were scrolling. That changes the size of text when you do that.
