Server CPUs ever cause issues on regular use?

like... amd opteron 8360 barcelona will it cost any issues on regular use such as gaming and basic stuff?

question 1:
does server CPUs cause issues on regular use?

question 2:
will server CPUs enhance regular tasks and gaming?

question 3:
does server CPUs better than normal CPU at everything even when money is not an object?

does server CPUs cause issues on regular use?
Nope, as long as your board supports it. AMD server CPUs are cherry-picked high-quality parts from the same line as "normal" Phenoms, and the architecture is identical.

will server CPUs enhance regular tasks and gaming?
No. As I said above, the architecture - and hence performance - are identical.

No. The only thing server CPUs are made for are operating under constant load without failing. For *normal* desktop use (gaming, casual stuff, etc.), the extra stability and reliability aren't worth it.

True to a point but there are differences between the Agena/Barcelona compared to the Athlon/Opteron. The AM2+ socket Barcelona Opteron runs on a slower Hypertransport than the Phenom/Agena. And the AM2+ Barcelona/Opteron memory controller only support up to DDR2 800 and the Phenom/Agena supports up to DDR 1066. Clock for Clock the Phenom is probable faster. The Opteron is just underclocked to make it more stable for server use.

But you would be lucky to find a AM2+ desktop board that has a bios to support a Barcelona/Opteron, plus it would be stupid to anyway because it would run a little slower because of the HT speed and lower Memory support plus the cost of the thing.
