Server help

I want to buy a server and id like to know anything you guys can tell my about it and all suggestions on what i should buy and what i should do will be appreciated.

a good way to start is by asking yourself what your general uses for the server are going to be.....is it going to be for home, office, bussiness, games, e-mail, etc.......then, from there you can impliment a budget, and someone can try to help you fit you with pieces and parts that you will need

Do you already have expirence in servers ? If not, maybe better you buy a second hand computer of a friend. not expensive and good to learn
