Guys,

On server 2k3 and 2k8 is it possible for a user to have the ability to start/stop services and reboot the server but not be able to install things?

Yeah, If you have Group policies installed, just put the user into an OU and then set the group policies to allow shutdown and what you said. I don't know the exact policies but I know they exist.

Thats kind of what i was thinking we have service desk guys we want do be able to do everything but install as part of an audit they only want them to be able to start/stop services and reboot nothing more so the OU will be the approach now if only i can find it.. thanks guys..
