Server shut down

Will emails be rebounded to the sender when the server is being shut down?

No, they magically appear on the recipient's end by creating a worm hole from the server's power supply and using a flux capacitor to bend the space time continuum. Obviously, if you didn't catch on, I am being sarcastic.;)

yes, they will be rebounded by a mailer daemon usually, saying could not resolve address.

Thanks for the reply. So, we will have to notify our branches that our email system is not working when we shut down the server. Is that right?

That totally depends on your infrastructure. Unless you are running a cluster, or redundancy.
