Hello all, I'm wondering if any of you people know of any software to run a virtual server on windows XP, but what i'm really trying to say is i need a some kind of server software to run on windows xp , because i only need active directory, ICS, and file sharing , and i dont want all that other crap when i dont need it.

i'm sorry if you cant understand me , i'm building this for our church and i'm under a lot of stress from them wanting me to do this and that and i'm the only one who knows how to do it.

First off, server virtualization is typically used when clustering on multi-core computers. If you only need one server then just install windows server on the computer, don't run a virtual machine. It sounds like everything you want to do can be done in windows xp though. Are you creating a web server/file server?

Eh, how big is the church? If you are going to create a local domain where everyone signs onto, you are going to have fun *sarcasm*. Honestly, I would just pay someone to do it if you have never done it before. It is a major PITA.

not really unless you have the tools right. i just created a domain for my entire school. as long as you get a mass import program, you should be fine.
