how do I get a specific service to run in safe mode so i can install a program? The service is print spooler.

i get errors when i try to install it in regular mode, i only have the printer spooler service error in safe mode. I figured that if i get this service to work it might install in safe mode. Do you know how to enable the service in safe mode?

What are you trying to install? You won't be able to install certain things in safe mode. OS not supported means just that. The program won't run on the operating system installed.

Again, what program are you trying to install? What operating system are you running? Does the program support the OS? Did you download this program or is it on a cd?

hp imaging zone is the program that i am instaliing. It is on windows 8.1. Came with the printer when i had windows xp. On this website it says it is compatiable with windows 8.1 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...+zone+plus&Type=Software&tempOsid=Windows 8.1

Then you need to contact HP. Is it version 4.7? You are most likely installing an older version which isn't compatible.

Again, you need to figure out what version is being installed. Some older versions won't install on newer operating systems. You will still get the message that operating system is not supported. When you tried installing in regular mode it probably checks first that the print spooler is running first and then it checks to see what operating system is installed.

From what I have searched online. Image zone has been renamed to photoshop essentials. So you must be trying to install an incompatible software in the OS.

That will most likely not fix it, assuming you get that service to run, you will likely get other errors about services not running, and then when it attempts to install you will get the same OS not supported error.
