i have a computer that is running windows vista 32 bit. i bought a new hard drive and want to put windows 7 ultimate 64 on it. i have the upgrade version of win 7 so i have to install the vista then do a clean install over it.

but what i want to know is how to have a dual boot setup of the old vista 32 on the old hard drive and to windows 7 64 on the new hard drive

not sure how it works with the upgrade version but with the full version you can choose to install on a separate hard drive or partition then once installed you will have a bootloader that will allow you to choose vista or windows 7.

no it should not be a probelm, when you install windows 7 it will allow you to choose what hard drive/ partition to install to.
