Setting up my laptop as additional monitor

Hi all,

This is my first post so hi to you all.

I was wondering if someone could guide me by the hand on how to set a laptop as the secondary monitor to my main desktop monitor?

Both my desktop and laptop have windows 7
I have 2 leads, a vga and a dvi - which lead goes where?

Do I use NVidia control panel to set the monitors up or do I use the screen resolution option or both?

Iv tried every possible way to get these monitors working together but nothing seems to happen and would really love someones advice as this is really bugging me!

Impossible my friend, the only way to do it is by having an Ethernet connection coming from your PC to the laptop and with the aid of a program (dual monitor ethernet google search should point you in the right direction (top result for me was this http://www.maxivista.com/). THIS WILL NOT USE JUST YOUR PC OR JUST LAPTOP, it will be you pc on your main screen and your laptop will run the laptop screen, the program will only make the mouse and keyboard work on the other screen, i believe you could drag the windows and things around so yes sort of dual screening it, but vga or dvi will not work at all!!!!!!
