A few weeks ago I got a DVR surveillance system and had a hard time setting up my router so I could access it on the web. By trial and error I managed to get it to work by assigning an application of ftp server and making another application with portforwarding, plus making the IP address always the same.
Having gotten that to work I tried adding a network hard drive and I also got the to work but not without losing the DVR connection. I don't know exactly what I've done now but I can't get either of them! I'm really tired messing around not really knowing what I'm doing!
Is there somebody who can help me set it up? Is it possible to have both? I've noticed everytime I turn the router off I get a new IP number which makes it difficult to keep track of the address and quite impossible if there's a power outage when I'm not home.
