I have a Westell 327 which a Gateway so it have to modem and router built together. I really dont want to use the router part, but instead I want to use my own stand alone Netgear router, how do I go about using the Netgear instead of the Westell?

If this is for DSL, I think you have to get access to the Westell's config screen and switch it to "bridge" mode. Then it just becomes a set of blinking indicator lamps, and the Netgear router becomes your modem and router in one.

Well, at least that's how my Westell 6100 and Linksys combo works...

I was in the settings of the Craptell and there is no bridge feature

Go to your default gateway: start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all and look for your "Default Gateway" type that address into your web browser and configure the settings you want.

If your not sure where specific settings are in your gateway have a look in your router manual or on their website.
