shared and dedicated ram

is software requires "128mb of video ram" and i have a graphics card with 358mb of shared video ram, but no dedicated ram, will it still work? is shared video ram still the same as just "video ram"?

Shared video RAM only appears in the low end cards because to utilise that feature, the GRAM onboard the graphics has to run at the same bandwidth of the system RAM which is at 64-bit. That is pretty slow, most cards should be on 128-bit with high end ones at 256-bit. As a rule of thumb if your card can "steal" system RAM don't expect blazing performance from that card.
