shared memory??

I was looking at some laptops, and they said "intel extreme graphics 900 accelerator w/ up to 128MB

This sounds like you specify the amount of video memory you want. I never dealt with integrated video, so i dont know how it works. How would you go about changing it so you have 128MB video? or does it automatically give u 128MB?

When the computer says it has 512MB of RAM and 128MB of intergrated video RAM, it means that 384MB are used for the computer, while the remaining 128MB are used for the integrated video.

system memory is shared with video. the more you alot to video the less system memory you have. it is the way compaines can make stuff cheaper.

Basically, if you are looking to use this laptop for gaming, don't get one with integrated video AT ALL. Not only does the graphics drivers suck, but then the computer is handicapped with the system RAM as well...

you still havent answered my question, i was asking how do you adjust the size for the video memory? I already know that it sucks for gaming.

And another thing, some of my games say that it requires 16mb of video memory that is either gefore or radeon series, would that work with integrated also?

1. When I had my integrated gfx card in my pc, I just went in the BIOS and changed the AGP Aperture size (if I remember correctly) to adjust the size for the video memory.

2. I think it would work.

yeah it defaults at 64mb with ati graphics you can chang it in windows by going into the display adaptor
