Sharing Windows 7 with 7...

Ok so I have 3 computers running windows 7, now I wanted the computers to all be running the same OS to make it easier.

All I want to do is know how to make a network, I've done it for 98, 2000 and XP, but for the life of me I can't figure it out for vista and 7.
I'm using all the same OS, 7 ultimate, I unticked passwork sharing, in network and sharing center, and enabled all the obvious; file/printer sharing, 128bit encryption and i've ticked the allow windows to control homegroup connections instead of the user password function (unless its better?).
The only thing I got working was the public folder. which is not very efficient to me or anyone else, as most of the system drives are only around 100GB all the big documents, media, etc are all on the huge 500GBs which "is not accessible" due to not having enough permission, the permissions have ticked full control, and then shared the entire drive, I just cant access anything that I choose to share. All I've got is the the public folder operational, so I gotta copy anything I want to their public folder before I can access it, then remember to delete it so i don't clog there hard drive.
Any help would be nice, thank you for any of your spared time.

I had same problem, and created a Password protected Dummy User account, and that solved it.

I suppose you could password your main user account, but I don't like using a password on my main user account.

You do have to enter a password to access the shared folders, but I made a simple password, 123456.

You don't have to be using the Dummy account to use the file sharing either.

Hi userOone,
When you create the dummy account and asign a password to it, Can you access the my document folder on that account? and other user's my document folder too?
Thank you.

Oh gee, you don't have to do that. Just enable file sharing for private networks and you'll be fine. Or you can research "Home Group" in Help and Support. That's the Win7 networking way.
