She Can't Get Connected

my neighbor lady who shares her wifi with me invited another person down the hall from her to share it also. The other lady has a notebook...when she clicks the icon in the system tray all the other wireless connections in the building come up except hers, so she can't connect to the neighbor I get mine from. This seems strange. She even brought her notebook into the apartment that has the modem and still couldn't get on. What is the solution? Thanks

It's possible the owner of the internet has hidden the name of the network so you have to connect to it manually. Is the router broadcasting mixed mode (a,b,g,n)? Or just N? A few different reasons could be the cause.
