shifter and clutch

I have a wheel and 2 pedals and would like to get a clutch and shifter without having to buy a whole new wheel/pedals.

I heard of an actlabs shifter, but found their site saying that it was discontinued.

Is there something out there that I can buy that anyone knows of? I am in the toronto, ontario area.

I have also heard of people making their own. If anyone knows how to do this, could u tell me if it is hard to do?

I think it is a shame that we live in a society where no one seems to know how to drive a stickshift. Every now and then you read in the newspaper about failed carjacking attempts because the would-be-carjacker did not know how to drive a stickshift! People who drive automatics are lazier and less alert than those who drive cars with stickshift transmissions. Additionally, in any given model of a car from any specific manufacturer, the stickshift version observes roughly 2MPG better fuel efficiency than the automatic version.

Woops, I went off of a tangent.

Anyhow, I used to race SCCA GT3 and SCCA GT5 series (in a souped-up 1963 Volvo 122S) and have had lots of experience with heel-and-toe. In fact, I use heel-and-toe in my everyday driving. People tell me that I am an aggressive driver though. When it comes to driving simulators on PCs/consoles, having that clutch pedal adds another dimension of realism to the mix. You are better able to pull off convincing drifts, and also better able to line the car up when coming fresh out of the apex.

Just my $0.02 worth on the subject.

Id argue the transmission system for civilian vehicles is dumb ... tank-style twin-drives is far more efficient :P hehe but i digress
 
yea, i think automatics are trash....my mom had a tarus....bad tranny after 45,000 miles cuz ford put a peice of rubber to control the fluid level instead of a damn spring and ball....
