"short" in Hard Drive ?

My hard drive when plugged in will shut down my pc, Tryed it in a good PC and will do the same thing,any Ideas as to how I could fix this, ?

Your subject title sums up the likelihood of a factory defect like a bad controller card or miswired connections inside the drive casing. If you juts purchased the drive return it as a factory defect for either an exchange or refund. If you obviously used a different cable in the second case you know right there the drive itself needs replacement.

You mean a exterior drive, hope your not pluging in a interior while its running?
