I'm looking to buy a budget system... one costing little but that can still play games.. and I aslo want to build it myself!:D

I will probably get a barebone system (case & mobo) then add parts myself...

I already have a GeForce4MX440 SE AGP8x so I will use that as my graphics card

I also already have an LG CD Writer and a ricoh DVD+RW (not +R just RW :( but i got it for £15 :D ) I will use them

I want it silent as I am going to have it in my bedroom.

  • Kingston 512 DDR400 PC3200 Cl3 Memory module OR: Kingston 256 DDR400 PC3200 Cl3 Memory Module and buy a 512 stick at a later date?

Opinions plz! , and if you have any experience with any of the products plz tell me about them, especially if the Hard Drive is silent or not!

Thanks!

Just as an update the 2500+ Barton has sold out... :mad: :mad:
so plz can u recommend another processor under £60 if poss

I also decided i would only get 256mb ram...for now...

So its now:
* EZ Buddie D3V7-2 AMD Alum Barebone System Ez-watch

* ANOTHER AMD PROCESSOR

* Kingston 256 DDR400 PC3200 Cl3 Memory Module

* Maxtor 6Y080L0 Plus 9 80GB 7200rpm UDMA133

From the benchmark tests ive seen i dont think that the Sempron 2500+'s are any descent....

without the processor the price is £141.84 inc delivery and VAT. Pertty good imo...

Sempron 2600 (or 2800 or whatever suits your budget) .. as for benchmarks ... screw them. :)

I can manage to get a Barton 2500+ of ebay, I think that I will get that due to the fact that its good for overclocking and that its a great chip :)

Also how quiet is the Maxtor Diamond 9? from what I hear it is good
