Should I change Moniters?

Well my new computer will be built shorty, however, the only moniter I have right now is a 17inch CRT HP Pavialion mx70. Its a average moniter but i was wondering if I should upgrade to a better montier. Yes I will be gaming:)

Yes, you should. A 19" CRT or 19"/17" LCD would be nice. And please fix your RAM in your sig. It should be corsair or something.

Personally, I don't really see a huge difference between CRT's and LCD's (as long as you get a monitor with an 8ms response time or lower.)

To me, the only thing that a CRT has over my Viewsonic VA902b is that it displays black better... hell but my monitor is about a foot thinner :P

I'd check out Viewsonic's new 2ms response time monitor... here I'll give you the URL:

it's really up to you. i have a cheap 17" CRT monitor (15.5" viewable). although i am used to the monitor, i always want to buy the vx922 listed above so i can run at higher resolutions and not go blind. (as far as desktop work goes)

i've seen a monitor like the one you have, and i can guarantee that the difference between it and the vx922 would be noticeable.

another thing that makes me want to switch is because my monitor is so cheap that in games such as fear some lighting is projected through my screen like a strobe light (literally)... it really takes away from the experience in my opinion, because it really isn't pleasurable. with an lcd, you don't have this effect.

actually crts are better for gaming so get like a 20inch crt if you have space to put it.....
Only because of their low response time, but i think that LCD's can look better because of their much higher contrast ratio, and brightness. f you get an LCD with <8ms, high contrast, and high brightness, it will be much better for gaming. They are also much smaller, lighter, use less power, and generally look better.

Yes, but CRT's only have perfect blacks because LCD pixels leak light... If you upgrade keep the 2nd monitor, dual monitor configuration!
