Should I consider an upgrade?

Using 8800gt 512mb, with my new 24" monitor at 1920 x 1200, do I need another card with more video memory?
something like "whatever video card" 1G ?

I actually don't quite understand if video card memory has anything to do with my resolution so any guidelines from you experts would greatly help. :)
 
what sort of things are you using your card for can it do everything you want it to do? if it can theres no point in getting one with more memory.
 
Gaming most of the time.
I read somewhere where ppl said 8800gt 512mb loses its power when playing on a 22" or bigger size monitor due to higher resolution, so i'm wondering......
