Should I get Ivy Bridge or wait for Haswell?

Haswell doesn't come out until mid 2013, and is only expected to be 10% performance gain over Ivy. It's focusing more on power draw improvements and integrated GPU performance increase rather than raw CPU performance increase.

Buy now.

I don't understand intel, there powerdraw is not something to worry about now, it has already a really big advantage over AMD.
But 10% gain is pretty much if you take it's performance now, though.
Hope AMD ever comes back to give some competition there.

Well it's most for the mobile CPU's (laptops).

I agree, AMD needs to give some real competition so that intel can't charge and arm and a leg for their stuff anymore.

Hope they're not getting too lazy to make nice improvements to desktop cpus....
I hate laptops (got tabblad for small things), I can't upgrade/modify it like my pc, isn't powerful and isn't handy for things like gaming and also other stuff. Okey, the advantage is the mobility though...

Ivy bridge processors are pretty strong in the market nowadays, they are also good with respect to price/performance.. Also, won't overclocking void warranty? And you want to overclock a newly release processor with no prior experience overclocking that kind of processors since they are new, it would be a waste if something goes wrong and damage your Haswell procie..

Overclocking doesn't void the warranty. Besides, how would they know anyway. You can't tell if it's been overclocked.....and besides that, the K series are unlocked and specifically meant to overclock.

Actually i think it does and i think intel actually has an overclocking insurance for like 35 for the 3770k down to like 25 for the 2500k
