I would note that Corsair is a respected memory manufacturer. I would definitely rather go with a gig.

Yeah dude, definitely go with the Value Select. What a coincedence, I just bought that exact 1gb pack from corsair a couple weeks ago. So just because it's value select doesn't mean it's crappy, especially with RAM. When you call something crappy is when you have to choose from something like a Celeron to a normal/high end processor, or a GeForce MX### to any other card. RAM is a lot different, it's mostly all the same except timing wise, and usually it doesn't make too big a difference.
 
No dude, I think he was saying 512mb good because Crucial makes it, and everyone knows crucial. I would think he said corsair is "crappy" because it's cheap and called "value select", which makes it sound cheap. But I'm not him, just trying to help.
