Ok well ive been condidering a RAM upgreade.

Right now i got a E6400 2.13Ghz (OCed to 2.5Ghz, bus speed of 313mhz)

and i got ram DDR2 533 (now at 313x2 =626mhz)

My stock bus speed was 266 and stock ramspeed was 266

so my memory to bus speed is 1:1

is it ok to get DDR2 800?

Cause im not sure if its bad to get RAM thats faster than the FSB or the bus speed?

thanks guys

Thats what i thought, but then i remembered that i heard that its pointless or bad to have faster RAM than your FSB, or bus speed, not sure which one.

Can Anybody that really knows bout this help me?

Which one is it, FSB (1252) or bus speed (313 (x2 = 626mhz))?

Please this is Urgent as i have 1.5 hours till shops close and my parents are gonna be busy foer the next week and my holidays finish (so i cant get my ram)

yes i i got it.

2 gb in one stick. (is that better than 2x1Gb)

Also its running at 471 (942mhz) with timings of 5-5-5-18 (the timings arent the greatest, but speed makes up for it, and well timings didnt make "That" much of a diff, (it does, but i read in reviews that its minimal)

thanks guys

EDIT:

well i benched my comp using PC wizard 08 (for the memory option)

Here is what ive got: Using 1x2Gb DDR2 800 (OCed to 942mhz)

Latency 78ns (167 cycles)
Bandwith Efficiency Float 61%
Bandwith Efficiency int. 54%

Here is what my bro has (we have the same comps) using 2x1Gb DDR2 533

Latency 82ns (174 cycles)
Bandwith Efficiency Float 104%
Bandwith Efficiency int. 92%

how come he has more efficiencyand what does that mean, is it better to have 2x1Gb than 1x2Gb

help please

yes, it is better to have 2x1gb if the motherboards are dual channel capable, which it would appear that they are

ok well then ill ask the guy at my shop tomorrow to change it.

I also i asked what manufacturer it is, and they said Transcend, but turns out to be A-Data.

ill ask them tomorrow. Do you think theyll allow me to swap?

Also i got 4 RAM slots. 2 green (A1 and B1) and 2 orange (A2 and B2)

will there ba a problem if i put them in the #2 slots intead of the #1?

They swapped it.

I got a question though.

it works faster, more efficiency and higher bandwith. But they gave me CL6.

Now im pisssed off and i want CL5 ( i payed for it, if i can get it for the same price i want it.)

How should i go about asking them to change it AGAIN?

Also how much of a difference will a drop to CL5 from CL6 have?

If the mobo can't support it, it usually just downclocks it.. Even if it does, it will run faster because of some other reasons.. Forgot

i got it and it works thanks travis.

its at 800.

but i got my other question,

how much of a difference will i see if i get CL5 instead of the CL6 they gave me

cause at first they gave me 1x2Gb CL5 DDR2 800,then i swapped to 2x1Gb CL6 DDR2 800. (i did not know it was CL6 i thought it would be CL5)

so anyone? I have seen an improvement with dual channel, but it can be more...
