Should I just buy a new water cooling unit?

Noticed weird noise coming from ?radiator? for the cooling unit... JUST started happening. Turned computer off asap as not to burn anything out. Turned it on once more just so show you guys.

Do any of you know exactly what is wrong? I am not super good at repairs but my options are bringing it to a computer place which will likely charge 100 an hour or replace myself which I can probably do.

Unless if you guys think its something else that is manageable.

Note, it IS four years or so old.. maybe even older. Should be something similar to this http://www.avc.com.tw/product_detail.asp?id=34 (AVC brand)
 
This is a prebuilt correct?

If so, I would recommend a new AIO cooler like the Corsair H100i, NZXT Kraken X61, or Cooler Master Nepton 240M
 
It was ages ago. However it has a newer motherboard and video card that I put in a year or two ago. The power supply, fans, liquid cooling, and maybe some of the ram = the only things original that remain. Is the noise from the old one fixable? Sounds like a pump motor in that thing is grinding its gears or something maybe

What I think is happening is that there might be some kind of buildup inside that is causing the motor to spin slower. Also check you fans and make sure nothings hitting them, possible a wire is in the way of a fan
 
Please don't turn your computer on without any cooling. The CPU will rise in temp in seconds and damage it.

That is the sound of your pump, contained within the CPU block, its gone bad.
 
That should be replaced haha, it will have a little motor and small impeller in there to push the water around. If its been running for a while then the bearing/s has probably gone in the motor and its just rattling around. Or its got something stuck in the impeller causing it to catch on the side.

I would buy a brand new unit, corsair, nzxt something like that. If your just going to throw it out unscrew it and see exactly whats wrong. I would anyway.

Plus as okedokey has said im very suprised you turned it on with no cpu cooler. Ive seen someone cook bacon on one once.
 
Ahaha hopefully the 5 seconds I had it on to hear the sound didn't overheat the CPU. Am worried now! I did turn the computer off immediately after it started making it and only turned it on again after for the video, so hopefully it'll be okay..

Yea, pump motor makes sense. I'll buy a new water cooler and install. I'll let you guys know what the inside of the unit looks like once I take it apart.
 
The cpu should be ok, aslong as it posted ok when you switched it on it would have cut out if it got too hot.
 
Right, instead of bringing it to the computer place using your bucks for a water cooler replacement is a far better idea. Have you checked out if nothing's clogged, broken or damaged though?
