Should I keep my old RAM stick?

Hey all,

Today I received my new ram stick:

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

My question is, do I keep my old ram stick in the second slot? It is a 8.00GB FB-DDR2 @ 332MHz

I also am upgrading my processor:

and motherboard that supports i5s.

What do you have currently?

You shouldn't be able to fit FBDIMMs in a normal consumer board.

You can't use the DDR2 in your new board either way so it looks like you'll just be on the new board with the new ram stick and new CPU. Did you already order the parts?

It's fine, I wasn't planning on using my old stick anyways
