I just bought my pc with my own money, and im on a tight budget. I would like to overclock my pc but I don't want there to be any chance of my computer to get messed up. Should I even bother with overclocking? Have you ever messed something up overclocking? Doesn't that stop the warranty?

overclocking can seriously damage components of ur computer, especially if u dont know what ur doing. what did u want to do with your computer that u need to overclock it? i would say u should use it as it is and dont worry about overclocking it.

p.s. did u get the intel p4 650?? :)

good idea. you wouldnt feel too good if u fried ur hd just trying to gain alittle performance. i know there are members on here who have toasted their hds overclocking. just ask them.....no fun. :)

I perfer to overclock my processor you get so much more out of it. Sure i run the risk of frying it but i make sure i have hs/f that will support higher than what my cpu is, like right now i have a 1.8g running at 2.2 and its stable as can be. If your nervous about overclocking dont do it. The only way to learn though is to try. If you decide to overclock it i can help you, either post here or contact me on msn or aim. [email protected], or Wenneman37. Dont take this as me trying to convince you either im just willing to help if you decide to so you dont destroy it.
