Should I RMA this HDD?

I just bought a 320GB Samsung SATA HDD from Newegg. everything works fine, but locks up during REGULAR FORMAT ( I can only use Quick Format), and it also locks up during Error checking Phase 5... I don't know why... when it gets to 90% on regular formating the formating will lock up, and you'll hear "click" sound from hard drive... I just bought this two days ago, should I RMA and get a replacement?? So far I can read/write to the hdd perfectly fine...

I would recommend you RMA it, yes. As it sounds like the HDD is a faulty unit. Not RMAing it soon could lead to it having problems in the future and even crashing and making you lose ALL your data on it. However my old IBM Deskstars, IBM put out a recall on them recently becuz they would overheat and had lock up problems as well, mine got EXTREMELY hot and would certainly lock up pretty often.......never experienced a full crash with them though. But not too long ago one of them went out completely, im guessing the motor in it went out as it would not turn on any longer. So i took it out back and beat it with a sledge hammer and burned it to a crisp and shattered all 4 discs. I have a video of it but its not on youtube anymore i dont think. It was a fun day.
