Should I upgrade my CPU or GPU first?

I'm looking to upgrade my PC in order to play more modern games that are coming out. I want to know which thing i should upgrade FIRST in order to get the best performance. I will eventually upgrade both. Also any suggestions of what exactly I should upgrade to.

System specs:
AMD Athlon II x2 250 Processor 3.0Ghz
4GB ram
600watt power supply
Nvidia Geforce GT 220 GPU

depends what games you want to play some games are quite CPU depended some are gpu.

i would go for graphics upgrade first your cpu is pretty reasonable
