A year from now the 980X will probably be about the same price as the 1090T is now.

I doubt the i7 980X will be $300 a year from now. It will probably around $400 to $500. I personally don't think the Core i7 980X Six-Core is worth over $400. The extra performance just isn't worth what a i7 930 Quad-Core Processor can already do at $295.

Well the 970 will be released in quarter 3 of this year with a release price of $564, it's pretty much the same chip just 3.2ghz stock and a locked multiplier at 24x plus turbo so 26 really.

Intel is only getting more and more retarded with their CPU naming.

wait for amd bulldozer

Until the end of time when it will finally be released....and thus already practically obsolete.
AMD needs to release something within the next year, and to do some good it better be atleast 8 cores with 16 threads or more, and also use triple channel memory.

I don't disagree with you there. Intel likes to try and confuse the general population when labeling their processors.
