I seriously Have No Idea How you people can have so much money too use on a Computer . . .

Wish i Had A Permanent Job . . .

Ok, Question

Should I Upgrade? Or Leave The Sleeping Dog Lie.

I am 16, In School, Working Part Time, Earning around $90 A Week atm (more hours too come)

I am Getting My Losers (Learners Permit) To drive in 2 months, Question is

Should I Upgrade? Or Save For A Car?

Im Leaning towards saving for a Car, Will there be any Dramatic Increases in computer productivity in month too come?

I Currently Have:

GigaByte K8N Nforce Pro-SLI
AMD 3800+ Socket 939 Chip
2.5GB DDR 400 Ram
3 x 320GB SataII Seagate's
Geforce 7600GS 512MB
21" ViewSonic LCD Monitor
500W PSU Silent Fans
7.1 Channel Sound Blaster Audigy Sound Card
6.2 Sound System
A Nice Looking Case

I was thinking just Upgrade My GPU Too a better card. . .

AKA. The 8800 GT (either S or X)

I would LOVE a New Computer, Yet i Want a Decent Car... I Cant Have Both :(

If you were to upgrade a better Graphics Card and a better CPU would help lots. The 8800GTS would be fine. Then start saving up for a car.

I know exactly wat u goin thru - computer or car? computer or car?

as u kno im goin all out on a comp now but i had to work hard to get to where I am now - 4 years in QUT uni among them. That AMD 1600XP+ with gefore2 mx100/200 that I got from parents in grade 11/12 had to last me until this very day as we speak! (im 22 now). morrowind only just works on my system lol

Buying a car will get you much more freedom, both from parents, and to just go places you otherwise would have had to ride to/get oldies to drop u off to. sunny coast is a spead out place with lotsa hot ppl around and things to do! gettin a car will get u closer to them if u kno what i mean ;)

To be able to get the muney to do the basics in life is paramount. think about what u need more first m8!!

Im goin too QUT, I want too be a Computer Hardware Engineer . . .
 
I did... wait for it (it has to be the longest course name ever!)

B of Applied science - Medical Radiations Technology (radiation therapy strand)

@ GP campus, finished last year

Im workin in adelaide now in radiation safety, an gettin paid a shyte load for it!! But it sucks quite a bit bein in adelaide - too cold in winter, tooo hot in summer, far as from anything else, cant go swimmin - too cold for that too, far from friends/family.

I gotta admit though, theres talent here like no other place i've ever seen!!!!!!!! ;)
Looks like Ill have to introduce some new blood in adelaide ay :D
 
I voted no on your upgrade. Yes I know a new GPU would be great for your computer and great for the "now". However a car (if you take care of it) can last a lot longer than that GPU ever will. A kid your age will be wanting to drive around town, see friends (without the use of a parental vehicle) and taking pretty aussie ladies to the movies or into the outback for make out sessions, or whatever. My point is, Car > GPU

I dont live newhere near the outback :D

Cars are more important then having a better computer, once you get a car then I would think about getting better computer parts.
 
sup man, I reccommend gettin a car for just after u get ur P's, that way ull be able to save a bit more too. mate trust me when it comes to a car, sunny coast (but anywhere in qld for that matter) women, and good times all go together!!!! I shud know!!!

It dont even have to matter that it's all flash lookin an stuff too coz many ppl that age dont think to save to get a car anyway so u'll find they'll soon start hangin off u (incl girls!!!)

Make sure u get one thats in good mechanical condition first.

u can find a lot of good magnas as a suggestion for 2-4 grand all in good condition (dont buy one that has rego 696 CET - my old one lol), and yes im thinkin about back seat comfort here lol.
