I just purchased a Toshiba portable external HD (160GB) to be used with my Dell 1420 Inspiron laptop. I went to backup my photo folder which contains 7.6 GB of photos and it took about 20 minutes to copy the entire folder onto the Ext HD. I read where this drive is supposed to be very fast. I am brand new to using Ext HD's. Should I have expected the Ext HD to copy 7.6 GB of pics faster? Also, instead of using the included backup software can I just drag and drop folders into the Ext HD under "Computer?" Thanks
