Should you shut down your laptop?

Should you shut down your laptop or is it okay to leave it up and running all day. Currently we turn it on and off several times a day. Any opinion on this? The desktop is left on 24/7 and that never has any issues.

Connected to a power outlet I recon? If so theres little reason to turn it off.

Wouldnt leaving it on reduce lifespan in a Laptop?

I would think that heat might become an issue personelly i would hybernate it and not leave it on

I leave my Acer on, however when I use it with out a power cord I let the battery run out before pluging it in again.

I have a laptop and I leave it on all the time and never have any problems.
My only advice would be, if its always going to be plugged into the wall, take
the battery out so its not always charging it (although you can leave it in if you want incase of power outages) and set windows so that it turns the screen off or at least uses a screen saver after like 10 minutes of idle time.

Mine has been on almost constantly for a year now and i have not seen any problems with it laptops have a shoter life then desktops anyway. Take good care of it and it wont matter if its on all the time or not...
