shrunken screen....

well.... it looks like my destop screen keeps shrinking into a miniature size whenever I run a program that is displayed in full screen.... and the screens also really small during boot up too.... can't seem to fix it and its really getting on my nerves since i can't run some of my programs.... help? thx!
 
By small, how small? Sometimes when I'm at uni, I can see the screen size change if I maximise or minimise a window. I don't know why it happens. Also my CRT monitor shrinks abit when its started cold and after a while it gets abit larger. :confused: Is your screen so small that you can't run your program? How big is your screen?
 
it looks like the screen is turned off except for a small square in the middle of the screen. and i can't change the screens size since its a laptop... but this doesn't happen all the time... just during boot up and when running full screen programs.....

Yeah, I assume certain applications change the resolution by default. This happens on my computer also. Just check the resolution by right clicking on your desktop, properties, settings, then fiddle with the Screen Area slider. Hopefully you will be able to maximize your resolution.

yeah... that's like the first thing I tried before I put this post up... dunno... i might have to end up using system restore....
anyother suggestions?
