I have this Shuttle X (I hope you know it), it works well, apart from sometimes when the cooler starts cooling it makes a lot of noise and when I say a lot I mean a lot, it sounds like it will soon meltdown. So far I has not cracked due to, too high temperature. But I am bit tired of the noise, so do you know how tob get rid off it?

Not really sure what it could be, I thought Shuttles were quiet.

Yes some of the time it is quiet, but then sometimes the cooler just begins to start and that makes a hell lot of noise.

Any ideas for what it could be?

Is there anything that could be hitting the fan blade as it spins? Or otherwise something (ie a wire) that is loose inside the cooler?

it could just be a really high rpm fan trying to cool down your cpu. WHat's the specs of the computer?

Firsly I do not think that the cooler is being block by anything.

And 'specs' I do not understand what that means, so could you please explain it to me.

As told my computer begins to make a lot of noise.

It does so when I am playing games, when I put a CD into the computer and when I do as explained in the first post.

What do you think it is due to?

I did not really get an answer so I will write one myself to get it up at the front page where people can see it and the hopefully help me.

well it is possible that the computer has a high speeed fan. shuttle pc's as one can imagine, have a problem with cooling if they are in a confined space. especially if u have got high end components in there. are you sure nothing is interupring the fan, or there is not a lot of dust inside the computer. you should open it up and look inside.

when we ask you for your system specifications, we want to know what is in your computer.

a quick and not very satisfactory way of finding some specs are . control panel...system. this will only give you the processor and the ram.

if you have a nvidia graphics card, right click on the screen and press nvidia dislplay and the nvidia screen should appear. alternatively you could right click on the screen...properties...settings. this will give u your graphics card. alternatively you could use a program such as everest or powerstrip. you can find those on google
