What I have: new dell beside an old hp hooked etherner card to ethernet card with crossover cable. One monitor hooked to old dell. I have internet service to new dell. Cable modem to ethernet card

What I don't know:
1. Can I or should I have internet access to old hp?
2. With or without internet access how do I access the old hp?
3. Would a remote program such as pcanywhere work in this
configuration or does it require the internet connection to
function or this or that or I just give up!

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am sure it is a simple fix or setup for many but I ain't no IT guy! Please help.

Dudder If the two machines are next to each other get a KVM switch. It is a switch that comes with keyboard, mouse, and monitor spliters. you need one monitor 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. connect them to the KVM and then you click a button on the KVM it will switch lines buttt you will still be using the same keyboard and mouse also monitor. You can switch from station to station in a presss of a button. You can't access them both at the excat same time butttt still easy.

Then for the internet just get a router and connect to both.

And again i save the day. LOL!
