It's probably been discussed before, but not knowing much about computers I'd prefer my own thread so I can ask my own specific questions.
I have a computer that came with XP already installed.
I'd like to replace the hard drive.
There are no discs with the PC, only image files in my documents, these are listed here-
Windows XP Professional PRECODED
Windows XP Professional SP3
Software backup disc
NG8-S XP Drivers
N68-S Vista Drivers
Questions.
Do I burn these to cd or dvd ? (NO problem if so)
Do I then physically install the new hard drive? (No problem for me)
Will the discs automatically run, like previous windows genuine discs I've run in the past, and do I load them in the order as above?
I don't have any codes for the version of windows, but might it be fair to assume they are PRECODED as per the files name?
Many kind thanks people.
