Go to the control panel then go to system. Then go to the Advanced tab. Then go to start up and recovery and then make sure the box is checked for displaying operating system.

On Vista:
Go to Control panel (select classic view if not already)
then click on system
on the left sidebar select Advanced properties
at the bottom of the window that pops up says setup so click settings
make sure the box is selected for show operating system list.
