Okay, this has me stumped. I decided "screw warranty, i want better performance" so i went trying to overclock my cpu in the bios. i set the new FSB (QDR for my board) hit F10 to save, and it boots with the original settings.
I'm using the latest BIOS, revision 1406. I could overclock my E4500 but not this E6300.
FYI: there are 2 different E6300 processors. an older, Core 2 Duo, 65nm, 1.86ghz one, and the newer Pentium Dual Core, 45nm, 2.8ghz one.
The newer one was only released half way through last year so don't be surprised if you haven't heard about it. Also blame intel for their stupid naming process
