Sims 2 Questions

I am thinking about getting the Sims 2. I love the old Sims... should I get the new one? I have some questions.

What kinds of new stuff comes on Sims 2? Is it worth the money? Is the old Sims better or worse?
 
its incredibly funny. and its in 3d so its alot mor einteractive than the original. you should definitly get it, and if you dont like it, take it back and say it doesnt work. but you will :). Oh, and its INCREDIBLY addictive
 
Well there are a whole lot of new things, but I suggest getting the University Expansion Pack too.....
 
its vastly expanded over the original, lots of new objects to use, lots of new interactions with other sims.

also you can travel to "community lots" such as parks and shops.

i would recommend a pc that is much higher than the minimum spec cos it can choke a bit when there are several sims on your lot and when the game is running in fast forward
 
Thanx! I have the old sims on one of my computers and it is SOOOOOOOO SLOW i want to put my fist through the screen :D

How much does the Sims 2 cost? do you need the first sims? How much does the university expansion pack cost? What other expansion packs are there?

I have a lot of questions :)
 
im not sure of the price for your region cos i dont know where you live, take a look on amazon for a good price guide.

the sims 2 is a standalone game in its own right, sims 2: university is the only addon at the moment but another addon called night life is in the making
 
Sims 2 is fun. I bought it for my wife so I could play on WoW all night, I think she likes it, she hasn't actually spoken to me about anything other than Sims since I got it for her. At forst the fact that your sims age and die can be a bummer, but the scope of the game is amazing (from what I've seen over her shoulder).
