I didn't realize this got released a week or so ago. Has anyone picked it up?

I always liked the series and think each one has added some worthwhile features. The first was great, and I accumulated all the expansions for it. Each one kept bringing more, and I really liked the open world of Sims 3.

The few reviews I have seen of the new one seem really mixed. Either it has great emotions, and is more light hearted like the old games. Others claim they stripped it out and cut out the fun.

Does anyone here plan on getting it or already has it? I am leaning towards trying it out.
 
I don't plan on buying it. I have the original with all expansions, and recently got Sims 2 when EA had it free on Origin. Haven't even run the game yet since I downloaded it weeks ago.
 
My brother spent like 150 dollars on all the Sims 1 expansions as they came out and a few months later they came out with the complete edition for 40 bucks. I still wouldn't mind getting a copy of that at some point since the first one was the only one I liked.
 
I feel that some of the core features of TS3 were lost in TS4, such as the toddler stage of life. Also, I agree with having to buy new expansions - I'd rather stick with TS3 expansions I have now.
