Sims Install Error

I was recently given a computer from a friend, the computer is about 3 years and had Windows XP Pro installed on it (homebuilt box, no restore CD's :( ). When trying to install or uninstall the Sims on the computer, I get the following error message from the InstallShield Installer. "Error getting sku number from registry. Aborting installation." This is very puzzling and I have never encountered such an error anytime, especially when uninstalling. I have included a screenshot of the error I keep getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried that but I get the exact same error, that's why I only included the screenshot of the uninstall. This error occurs very early in the process. I've never seen anything I couldn't reinstall.
