Sims2 failed find Directx 9.0c compatible for graphic adapters

hello everyone.

I have just bought a Computer without windows. I have istalled windows Vista Ultimate and all the drivers needed from the motherboard. I installed Sims2 but it cant run as it says failed find Directx 9.0c compatible for graphic adapters. I know in lots of forums people say update drivers, download directx etc but i have done all that and still no luck. My system passed when checked at ATI website to play sims2. please anyone help coz i really pissing me off i paid so much money on the bastard. Thanks

Vista ultimate (6.0 build 6000)
Amd phenom 9750 Quad-core processor
3gb ram
250 gb hard drive
directx 10
graphics card
ATI Radeon Express 1250 (up to 1gb memory)

I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but even though the ATI Xpress 1250 supports DX9, it is integrated and I highly doubt it will be able to play the Sims 2 if you got the game to launch.
